Hyvinkään kaupunki valitsi Lukulumon

Lukulumo mahdollistaa lukukokemuksia omalla äidinkielellä – Hyvinkään kaupunki panostaa lukemiseen

Hyvinkään kaupunki on ostanut Lukulumon kaikille kaupungin varhaiskasvatusyksiköille. Yli 1800 lasta pääsee nyt lumoutumaan tarinoiden taiasta 25 eri kielellä. Pyysimme Mari Lundén-Pallanzaa, Hyvinkään kaupungin palveluohjauksen koordinaattoria, kertomaan syistä päätöksen takana.

”Lapselle lukemisella on yhteys parempaan koulumenestykseen ja koulumyönteisyyteen. Se vahvistaa lapsen kehitystä ja taitoja monella muullakin tavalla. Koemme lapselle lukemisen hyvin tärkeäksi.
Siksi Hyvinkään varhaiskasvatuksessa on alkamassa Lukemaan-hanke, jonka tarkoituksena on kasvattaa lukemisen osuutta päivästä. Niin kutsuttu ”Lukuagentti” innostaa henkilöstöä lukemaan. Osana hanketta otamme Lukulumon käyttöön kaikissa Hyvinkään kaupungin varhaiskasvatusyksiköissä. Lukulumo mahdollistaa maahanmuuttajataustaisille lapsille lukukokemuksia myös omalla äidinkielellä. Myös kirjasto ottaa Lukulumon käyttöönsä.”

”Hyvinkää tekee upean satsauksen kaupungin kaikkien lasten kielelliseen kehitykseen. Erityisen hienoa on juuri se, että kaikki lapset asuinalueesta tai päiväkodista riippumatta saavat mahdollisuuden kehittää tulevaisuuden kannalta elintärkeitä taitoja”, sanoo Jakob Skogholm, ILT Oppimisen toimitusjohtaja.
