Leading Literacy Series: Designing a Coherent Literacy Strategy
An effective literacy strategy is central to academic success for all pupils. Its impact depends not on the production of a single document, but on the coherence between a school’s stated intent, its strategic decisions, and everyday classroom practice.
This session explores how to design a literacy strategy that is clear in purpose, aligned in approach, and sustainable over time.
Led by Alex Fairlamb, the session will examine three interdependent elements:
- Defining the Intent (the ‘Why’)
- Developing the Strategy (the ‘How’)
- Implementing Classroom Practice (the ‘What’)
Ensuring that strategic decisions are visible and meaningful in daily teaching, learning, and pupil experience.
