Multimodal Literacies Series: UDL in the Reading Classroom
Led by Rory File and guest speaker Dr Sarah Moseley, this session explores how Universal Design for Learning can transform reading for every learner. We will examine common barriers in the reading classroom and consider how the Reading Rope supports targeted, flexible pathways into word recognition, language comprehension and meaning-making.
Practical strategies will show how to widen access to text through multimodal approaches, scaffolds and assistive technology. The focus is on bridging theory to practice so that every learner can participate, engage and succeed.
