It was wonderful to see so many colleagues from across Scotland join us for ADES Roundtable: Inclusion as a Catalyst, with ILT Education UK. We’re grateful to Professor Sofie Sergeant for helping to open up the conversation, as well as Ian Potter from the Association of Education Advisers supporting the dialogue, and to everyone who brought their experience and perspectives to the table.

The engagement throughout the discussions made the afternoon particularly valuable. The range of views in the room connected research and policy with the practical decisions local authorities face as they work to strengthen inclusive provision. Colleagues spoke openly about the pressures on schools and services, while sharing ideas and experiences from their own settings. That willingness to explore difficult questions together is what made the roundtable an important opportunity for reflection and continued collaboration.
